Months of hype, Tonnes of Advertisements and Trailers, A Spanish Lady in the lead along with Hritik Roshan and what you get - a thoroughly disappointing product called “Kites”. The film has a very predictable and listless storyline and performances by lead actors are really average. The music score is easily forgettable with Hritik doing nothing different in one dance number that he has got and the action scenes are, well, just flying and crashing cars, nothing new. This Kite fails to fly high and tears itself down right from the start.
Jay (or J as he is known) is a con man living in Las Vegas who earns his living by doing small time crimes, taking dance lessons and marrying for money to women interested in getting Green Card In US. He is just waiting for an opportunity to strike big and earn loads of money in quick time. Enter Gina (Kangana Ranaut), daughter of wealthy Casino Owner who falls in love with her dance instructor Jay. Jay is only interested in the money and decides to con Kangana for her money (Very Original!). If you have got a knack of associating Kangana with a Psycho, mentally disturbed girl in her movie roles, you are bang on target this time too. In this movie too she plays a ‘Yedi’ and obsessed girl madly in love with Jay. Can you guess what happens next?

This is Hritik’s first movie in nearly two years and you wonder why did he spent so much time coming up with this crap movie. He looks and dances really well in this movie but the storyline is so lame that even he, with his charisma fails to lift the movie. The only thing good in this movie is the Beautiful Spanish Babe, Barbara Mori. She does her job well, though in some shots she looks a bit old. She has acted really well and most of the story line after the interval is centered around her. But there is absolutely no chemistry between her and Hritik in the entire film. The rest of the characters in the movie don’t impress. The songs are forgettable to say the least.
When the movie ended, people in the theatre started clapping and applauding. I couldn’t guess whether it was because they really liked the movie or they were glad that the movie, finally, came to an end. If asked to describe the movie in few words, I will say ,” Kites, Oooooooo Paaaaaar …!!!!!!!!!!”.
Rating: 1.5 stars out of 5. (1 for Barbara Mori plus 0.5 because the movie is just 2 hours long !)
