Vadgaon Dam is located approximately 40 kms from Nagpur near Butibori MIDC.
This is an ideal place for a day’s outing. The reservoir is huge and is a well-known spot amongst the Birdwatchers community of Nagpur. It's a well maintained but slightly neglected picnic spot near the city.
The calm waters and the surrounding greenery simply fills you with serenity. You can relax by the waters or take a long walk along the Reserviour Shores. Camp 'Sahas' is also located within Walking distance of this place. A huge statue of 'Sant Dyaneshwar' and a beautiful Garden are nearby. You can actually see the statue while standing on the dam.
Since it's just 40 kms from Nagpur, it's perfect for Day long outing or a long drive and a peaceful evening.The roads leading to this place are good but in the rainy season it is best advised to go by a Car.
Also, you may get stuck in a traffic jam near the Butibori flyover during rush hours. Visitors have to pay a paltry sum of Rs.10 per head in order to gain access to the Dam.There is a small canteen inside the area to help yourself in case you forgot to bring your picninc - basket!
Since summer is already in its unwelcome scorching bloom, this place will serve as a cool haven if you're looking for some respite.
