A tweet meet was loooooong over due at Nagpur . So Nagpurian Tweeters finally decided to break the ice & come out of their tweeting zones. An informal venue was decided for the Nagpur TweetUp on the night of Saturday, 5th sep 09. The place : Kusumtai Wankhede Hall. The Occasion : Flower Show by Nagpur Garden Club. By the dawn of Sunday, 6 Sep - Nagpur TweetUp was trending on Twitter! Well :) not in the real sense... but if you consider the local universe - "Apna Nagpur" ! Nagpurian Twitterers spared no effort in reaching every Nagpurian on Twitter! Tweets flew , DMs rained! By sunday afternoon, everybody who should know about meet up , knew about it.
And then at the appointed hour, no one was present!! We all follow Indian Standard Time - so first signs of Tweeple appeared at 4:15 PM . Few tweeters trickled in later. After the initial discussions, everybody made way towards the flower show. The flower show was amazing and tweeters were mesmerized by beautiful flowers on display. It was double dhamaka of sorts - Tweet Meet & Flower Show combined together. The empty chairs & open hall proved to be icing on the cake and was promptly used by Tweeps to relax & discuss. It was a fun sunday evening for the Nagpur Twitter group.
Due to the very short notice about Nagpur Tweet Meet, many interested Tweeps could not attend the meet. Hopefully, we will have a bigger time frame & a more formal venue for the next tweet up.
