Along with 'The Anonymous' rock band, 'Holy Sacrilege' is the second band that will be performing at the Radio Mirchi Sound Check event on Sunday Nov 21st, 2010. MH-31 team caught up with the band members of 'Holy Sacrilege' at Radio Mirchi Studio. Here is the extract:

Q: Tell us about how you guys came together.
(Gaurav) Me and Revant used to learn guitar together. We had already made up our plans to form a band and take up music as our future career. We came to know about our drummer through a Pan Shop Owner! We met our other band members through friends and mutual acquaintances. Its been a great journey since 2008 and we look forward to many more succesful years in the future.
Q: You have come up with quite an interesting name for your Band. How did you zero in on the name?
(Revant) It was my elder brother's idea. He was a part of a band which went by a similar name. All the other band members liked the name and thats how we came to be known as 'Holy Sacrilege'
Q: Tell us about your band's performances.
(Gaurav) We have performed in almost all the Band competitions that are held in Nagpur. We have performed at YCCE, VNIT 'Aaarohi' and also at the VCA Jamtha Stadium for a private show.
Q: Do you play a particular genre of music ?
We are a multi genre band. We are into 'Classic Rock', 'Heavy Metal', 'Fusion Rock'. Jimi Hendrix is our Idol and God! We try to include all the genres in our music and songs.
Q: Any memorable moments that you would like to share with Nagpuians ?
(Revant) There are in fact two memorable moments that we would like to share.
Our first memorable moment was when we performed at YCCE and got an overwhelming response from the people. We got a standing ovation for our performance.
The second one, when we performed Jimmy Hendrix's 'Purpule haze' in 'Aarohi' at VNIT and we again got a standing ovation! The response from the crowd was simple extraordinary and out of this world. It is an unforgettable moment for us.
Q: Which are your favourite bands / Artists (Indian / Foreign) ?
There are lots and lots but to name a few, we like 'Led Zeppelin', 'Kamelot', 'Guns and Roses', 'Canned Heat', 'Buddy Guy', 'B B King', 'Jimi Hendrix', 'Santana' and many many more.
Q: So what binds 'Holy Sacrilege' together ?
(Everyone) "Music".
(Neel) All of us come from different backgrounds all together. We come from different cultures and its 'music' that keeps us bonded together. We love music and when we play , it comforts our hearts and souls.
(Gaurav) We had our share of fights and differences but ultimately when it comes to playing music, we are all at peace.
Q: What are your future plans for 'Holy Sacrilege' ?
(Aseer) To continue entertaining & playing at our best. There are many more achievements and recognitions still awaiting us in the future.
(Gaurav) Currently we are working on our very own 'Demo' CD which will contain all our original compositions and we will try and approach different record labels so as to come up with our own album.
Q: So are you all set for the 'Mirchi Sound Check' event?
We hope that the people like our band and appreciates our performance. We are all pumped up and we are going to rock the 'Mirchi Sound Check' event.
