Meet Radio Mirchi's RJ Ritika - A dynamite full of energy & a real fast talker! Here’s an extract of her interview.
Q: Tell us about yourself.
(laughs) I enjoy anything and everything that I do. I am an easy going person. To talk about studies, I am studying and working. I just completed my B.B.A and now I will be pursuing my M.B.A. So currently, I am balancing myself on two boats and managing it pretty well!

Q: Tell us about yourself.
(laughs) I enjoy anything and everything that I do. I am an easy going person. To talk about studies, I am studying and working. I just completed my B.B.A and now I will be pursuing my M.B.A. So currently, I am balancing myself on two boats and managing it pretty well!
Q: How did this RJ thing happen? What was the driving force behind you becoming an RJ ?
Becoming an RJ was the biggest decision of my life. I am an avid talker and my friends suggested me that I put this quality to some productive use and also get paid for it (laughs). That’s how this whole ‘Radio’ thing came about. I decided to take a chance and go for it. So I went for the RJ auditions at Radio Mirchi. It’s been more than 3 months that I am working with Mirchi and its working out pretty well. I am an adored member of the Radio Mirchi family! (Laughs)
Q: What are the shows that you host on Radio Mirchi?
I started working with “Bumper to Bumper” from 5 pm till 9pm. Currently I am hosting the morning show “Hello Nagpur!”
Q: So whats the secret behind Ritika's high energy levels & enthusiasm ?
As I said, I like to enjoy! I love talking to people which helps keep me lively and cheerful all the time. I love to laugh and love to make others laugh with me. I am the chatter box in the office. (Laughs) People here have accepted me for who I am, so that helps in keeping the energy count up.
Q: What changes have you noticed in yourself since you became an RJ ?
I have learnt lots of new things about myself since I joined ‘Radio Mirchi’. The first thing I learnt is that I am a good multi-tasker. I started working right in the middle of my exams. I handled both the responsibilities really confidently fared really well. I have become more matured and responsible individual since I started working. I can handle any situation confidently now.
Q: Can you share some of your memorable On-Air moments ?
This journey has just started for me. Every day is a new experience. Lots of things are happening around here. I am doing different shows and I am being given different responsibilities. I am learning a lot each day. And each moment is memorable!
Q: What are your hobbies?
(Laughs) Quite contrary to my personality, I like to cook. I am a movie buff and I also like surfing on the internet. I love talking with people. I just cannot stay quiet. (Laughs)
Q: Your favorite movies.
I love watching movies especially Comedy movies. I also like movies involving thrill and suspense.
Q: And your Favorite Delicacies.
I like Khandvi, particularly Haldirams’ Khandvi. I can cook one too! I like continental food and I am a big cold drink addict. I can have a cold drink with anything and everything.
Q: What is the one thing that you love about Nagpur?
The pace of life in Nagpur is just right. It’s not slow like in villages and not too fast like in big metropolitan cities. People here are really concerned but not nagging or poking their noses in other peoples businesses. That’s what I love about Nagpur. It is a good place to live.
Q: One thing you hate about Nagpur.
(Thinks hard) There are no 3D movie theatres in Nagpur. Also the theatres here just don’t release English Movies.
Q: Any Tips for aspiring Radio Jockeys.
(Laughs) I myself am an amateur in this field but what I feel is that you have to have creativity and be an extrovert. Also you should be up to date about all the current affairs. You should have confidence and ability to tackle tough & tricky situations.
Q: What would you like to say to Nagpurians.
I would say, take things lightly !! Have fun in each and everything that you do. Whatever you do in life, you should feel satisfied and proud about it. Don’t make rules that are so stringent that you fail to enjoy all the smaller things in life. Also, I would love to know their feedback on my shows. I would like to know from my listeners if I am doing a fair job. (Smiles)
