Nagpur goes to vote on 16 April. And if you are not satisfied by any of the candidates in fray, then you have another option. The option of using Rule 49 O.

As stated in Rule 49-0 of "The Conduct of Elections Rules, 1961-

"If an elector, after his electoral roll number has been duly entered in the register of voters in Form 17A and has put his signature or thumb impression thereon as required under sub-rule (1) of rule 49L, decided not to record his vote, a remark to this effect shall be made against the said entry in Form 17A by the presiding officer and the signature or thumb impression of the elector shall be obtained against such remark."

Vote for Nobody?

To put it simply, you can go to polling booth and fill up and sign the 17-A form, which is available with presiding officer. Thats it. You have just voted for nobody.

This facility would be available at all polling booths. Make sure you ask for it in case you have decided to vote for nobody. Don't just sit at home. If you sit at home, there is chance that someone might misuse your vote.

If you are fascinated by 49-O then you can read more about it at:
