Hello Nagpurians!
Well, this IPL Season brought disappointment for all of us Nagpurians, who were eagerly expecting our very own Nagpur IPL Team. Turns out Sahara chose Pune as their Home Ground instead of Nagpur. Fair enough, it makes more business sense to choose Pune & so it was evident that they set Pune as their base.
Some funny names came across my minds whereas some serious one did come up too. This post is all about those names that ticked in my mind.
- Haldirams : Well they are a major food joint and are renowned for their food products. They have a global market. I would love it if Haldirams sponsored our IPL team.
- Dinshaws : If it is Icecream , it has to be Dinshaws! Besides Dinshaws has been a home grown brand, thereby contributing to the Nagpur history. So the attachment might work out.Who knows ?? :)
- Neco Group : Jaiswals NECO group of Industry is a reputed chain of Industries. Set up in Nagpur and spreading abroad, they too can sponsor Nagpur IPL Team
- Raisoni Group of Institutions : Open up your newspaper and the half page ad screams about their institutions. Around 64 institutions and growing, they too might be interested in being part of the great Indian IPL story!

Now hold on, as my funny bone got to work and i thought may be there are some more people to sponsor our IPL Team!
- Nagpur University : Well , Imagine if the great Nagpur Universiy decides to sponsor our IPL team. Players will audition for the team and then wait for “n” number of months awaiting the results
- Nagpur Poha Tapri Association : Well, I for one thing was thinking of putting them on the serious lists. They sure are making brisk business.Remember the early morning Poha at Shankar Nagar Tapri or our Globe Trotting Rupam (KP Tapri). If they decide to buy the team, we are sure to see “Poha Strategic Timeout” in between the matches.
Who else can sponsor our IPL Team. I guess I might have missed a few names. Flow in your ideas and we will add it to this list.
