Rotaract Club of Nagpur Ishanya & NIIT will be organizing a city level Unique Business Idea Competition, "IDEAts", It’s just an idea…that matters! on 28th January, 2012. This competition is being initiated with an objective of channelizing the hidden business acumen and to promote entrepreneurship skills among youth. The Club assures that this initiative will provide a platform for budding business minds to come out and showcase their potential before prominent business personalities & industrialists.
A small idea of putting seal on freely available water has turned into a billion industry of packaged mineral water. A silly idea of uniting two ends of cloth resulted in innovation of safety pin. Setting system & scalability in thought has developed a highly organized niche sector - Dabbawalas.
In all, an innovation that meets the need for comfort, usability or appeal to senses, can envisage a large business if amalgamated with significant acumen.
If you have it, take the leap. Take it to next level. Share it to attract investment, build team, shape & scale it up. Participate as IDEAts and win huge reward, recognition & claps.
Students from all colleges and even non-collegiate youngsters are encouraged to participate in this competition. The event promises a 10,000/- Rupees Cash prize to the winner & a 6,000/- Rupees Cash to the runner up, gift vouchers to other winners and certificates to all participants. We wish the students’ participation in this competition and let them share their business ideas on this great platform.
Event Structure
1) Each Team shall comprise of 2 or 3 members
2) College students as well as non-collegiate can participate.
3) Participation Fee - Rs. 500/- per Team.
4) Special recognition for the college sending maximum Teams.
Venue- Sai Sabhagruh, Behind Wockhardt Hospital, Shankarnagar Square, Nagpur.
Presence of distinguished businessmen and industrialists who can support the business ideas financially, mentor the participants and groom them.
Judges - Panel of 4 extinguished business personalities and industrialists.
Round 1
Submission of Executive Summary - 50 marks (On or before 24th January, 2012)
Participant is expected to convey the business plan (idea) in precise points.
Registration form will have a small Questionnaire attached to it, which will check the business acumen, general awareness of the participants.
Round 2 - Group Exercise - 50 Marks
Each Team will appear for Group Exercise, which will test Group Dynamics, synergy and Team work.
On the basis of total marks scored from the above 2 Rounds, top 10 Teams will make it to the Final Round. (Subject to change)
Round 3
MS PowerPoint Presentation & Business Plan Presentation (Need, Scope, Finance, Structure, Revenue, Marketing, Risk & Future) + Question & Answers Session with the Judges
1) Participants will submit their business idea through a MS PowerPoint presentation, share the business plan and appear for a Questions & Answers Session.
2) Each Team will get 10 minutes for its Presentation and 5 minutes for Question and Answers Session with Judges.
Significant Advantage
Some industrialists present at the event will mentor and financially support the viable business ideas.
Top Business Ideas will get a direct entry in TiE's National Business Plan Competition.
Top Business Ideas will get a chance to present their ideas in TiECON, one of the biggest and widely acknowledged Annual Conference of Entrepreneurs.
