Joy of Giving Week
The Joy of Giving Week is a "festival of philanthropy" that aims to become a part of the Indian ethos with the Week being celebrated every year by engaging people through "acts of giving" - money, time, resources and skills - spanning the corporate, NGO and government sectors, schools, colleges and the general public.The 2011 edition of the Joy of Giving Week is being held from October 2-8, 2011 across India.
Zero Gravity, the youth wing of Dr.Shrikant Jichkar foundation in the city is all set to take up the 'Joy of Giving' week in Nagpur. They have joined hands with one of the best NGO of India 'Goonj' .The idea is to tap the unexplored treasure of resourceful waste. The campaign calls for the integration of the youth to bring a change in the lives of the needy and address the social issue of clothing and resource mobilization.
Zero Gravity will be taking up the 'Vastra-Samman' collection campaign here in the city by setting up a collection centre for all household material lying unused in your home.This initiative is for channelizing the urban India’s underutilized material like clothing, school material, cloth sanitary napkins etc as development resources in far-flung villages of India.The contributions will also be used for all the people affected by the flood and the earthquake.Zero Gravity is one the main collection center for the city.
