Bharat Ratna - Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar or simply Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar was born on April 14, 1891 at MHOW (Military Headquarter of War) in Madhya Pradesh. He is the architect of Indian Constitution and is also known as the “Father of Indian Constitution”.
On the occasion of the 120th birth anniversary of this great man, an innovative campaign titled 'Paint Brush' was organized by 'Prawah', a city-based NGO.
The campaign was held at KRIMS hospital. It involved writing of the 'Preamble' on a 10m long canvas as well as construction of a pillar : "Pillar Of Freedom", with the 'Preamble' inscribed on it.
With the infecting enthusiasm of Founders Sameer and Ketki Arbat, and many zealous volunteers and well wishers, the event was a success. They painted the canvas in the colors of the the Indian flag and inscribed on it various terms related to the preamble.

Also, on April 13th , 'Prawah' had organized a drawing competition for inmates of Central Jail, Nagpur. The NGO got a huge response for the drawing competition.
The inmates put out their hearts on the canvas and painted beautiful images about life in confinement and their inner turmoils. Prize distribution for the drawing competition was held in the Central jail premises on April 14th.
The piller constructed as well as the canvas will be put on display at various social and educational institutions in the city in coming days. The event was not only a tribute to our Constitution, but also a humble attempt at highlighting the importance of 'Preamble'.
