Hello Nagpurkars
Children in Orphanages , I feel are normal and intelligent just like you, me and everyone else. Kids who live in orphanages usually do not get access to quality education and other worldly pleasures that we people enjoyed in our childhood. It is with a view to change this, M.A.D - Make A Difference was formed. A Youth Volunteer Network that started in Kochi, M.A.D has now spread its branches to 11 Cities across India. Around 1000 Volunteers are already making a difference by teaching children from the orphanages in their own cities.
The latest addition in the list is our very own city, Nagpur . Nagpur's M.A.D team was recently set up and the folks at MAD - Nagpur have been doing a great job. The basic requirement for volunteering is to being able to devote 2 hours of service per week - either on Saturday or Sunday. The volunteers are required to teach English to the children according to a fixed syllabus.
The M.A.D Team is now looking out for volunteers and they are holding a Recruitment Drive at Vankar Bhavan , Opp Deekshabhoomi on 16th May 4pm onwards . Check out their leaflet for more information.
