Nagpur PHP Meet Up

The fourth Nagpur PHP meet up was held on 10th October 2009 in the premises of Jog Hall, behind Tatya Tope hall, Laxmi Nagar. The meet up saw a presence of number of PHP developers from Nagpur.

The Meet up started with a presentation on “PHP Frameworks” by Animesh and Karthik Ragubathy. The duo explained about the need of  frameworks and the features of frameworks. After the presentation, a question answer session was held where developers cleared their queries on Framework. Dr Tarique Sani cleared the queries of most developers by giving a short lecture on “Which PHP Framework to start with” for the beginners.

After the presentation, came the most interesting part of the Meetup. Kapeel Sable, a 10th standard student of Sanjuba High School, performed a live demo of SQL Injection on Various Sites. He also gave a presentation on how to secure a website from SQL Injection. “Security is an aspect, which most developers take lightly” remarked Dr Tarique Sani. He pointed out that code security should be implemented from the point you begin the project. It shouldn’t come as an afterthought as it becomes impossible to make your application 100% secure at a later stage. Followed by this, there was an intense discussion on Security in PHP based applications and how to prevent it where all developers took part actively.

The agenda for upcoming meet on 7th November 2009, was also fixed as “Introduction to various Content Management Systems (CMS)” and “Developing Facebook Applications using PHP”.

The PHP meetup has been a great boon for the php community in Nagpur & has provided a great platform for php beginners, enthusiasts & developers to share their knowledge.
