Poisonous Snakes

 | India’s Most common Snake. Three different Varieties are found in Nagpur: - Spectacled Cobra

It can grow up to 8 feet in length. | - There are two black marks on the inside of the hood from which it gets its name.
- It’s found in rice fields, jungles, grasslands and even old houses.
- Its Neurotoxic venom is extremely poisonous and lethal and attacks the nervous system.

 | This Snake is very aggressive and makes loud hissing sound when disturbed. Other varieties found in Nagpur : - Saw Scaled Viper (It has Distinctive Saw Shaped Scales on its head)
It can grow up to 6 feet in length. | - It has Flat, Triangular shaped head with small scales on top.
- This snake has the biggest Venom teethes found amongst Indian Snakes.
- The Venom Teethes can be up 2 ½ inches long.
- Its Hemotoxic Venom affects Blood vessels and Kidneys and is extremely lethal to humans.

 | This snake has smooth, glossy Scales and the uppermost rows are hexagonal and distinctly enlarged. It is found in Rice fields, Jungles and residential places. It can grow up to 8 feet in length. | - This Poisonous snake has the world’s smallest Venom Teethes.
- Its Neurotoxic Venom can cause pain in joints and can also cause Paralysis.

- Its staple food is field rats, hence the name.
- It can grow up to 12 feet in length.
| - These snakes are good climbers and excellent swimmers.
- It inflates its neck and hisses when disturbed.
- They can be Yellowish Brown, Moss green or entirely black in color.

- This snake is one of the fastest Indian Snakes.
- It inflates it fore body when disturbed.

- It’s found in Forests and also in open areas and agricultural fields.
| - This snake has a stout body with smooth shiny Scales
- Labial Pits on Lip Scales are thermo –receptors and help snake locate warm blooded pray.
